The mission of the Institute for Systems Biology’s research can be summarized by the following:

P4 Medicine  – They are leading the way to predictive, preventive, personalized and participatory medicine, which will revolutionize healthcare and shift the focus to wellness.

Global Health  – They use the systems approach to address infectious diseases, vaccine development, emergence of chronic diseases, and maternal and child health.

Sustainable Environment  – They apply the systems approach to deciphering the mysteries and power of microbes to affect the environment and human health. They focus on bioenergy, renewable chemicals and climate change.

Education & Outreach  – They have always been committed to transferring their knowledge to society through their educational programs and partnerships.
